Pepperl+Fuchs Bebco EPS Purge/ Pressurization products offer a safe & economical approach to installing electrical equipment in hazardous locations. By creating a safe area inside an enclosure, general-purpose equipment can be used in hazardous (classified) areas.

● General-purpose equipment can be installed in the protected
　enclosure and used safely in the hazardous area.

● Flammable gas collected inside the enclosure is removed & the
　accumulation of gases or ignitable dust within the pressurized
　enclosure is prevented.

One of the best benefits of purging / pressurization is use of the standard Type 4/12 enclosure as the protected enclosure. This saves money, weight & space over explosion proof methods.

Our Bebco EPS EEx p purge system reduces the classification within the protected enclosure from Zone 1 to non-hazardous. General-purpose equipment can be operated within the protected enclosure.

Our EEx p purge system is designed according to European requirements- ATEX directive 94/9/EG & EN50016. European protection methods allow multiple techniques to be used when designing hazardous area equipment.

● Class 1, Division 1, Group C & D

Class I applications - The Bebco EPS Type X purge system operates by forcing air or an inert gas through the enclosure until all of the hazardous gas is removed (purging). After purging, constant pressure is maintained within the enclosure & equipment inside the enclosure is energized.

Class II applications- the Bebco EPS Type X enclosure must be free of all combustible material. The enclosure is sealed & then pressurized before powering the equipment inside. There is no purging of the Class II, Type X system. If enclosure pressure drops below its minimum, enclosure power is disengaged & the purging sequence begins.

The type Y purge system：

● Allows Division 2 rated equipment to be operated in a Division 1
